Revealtek's Instant Review System made its international debut at the ANTICA Singapore International Challenge 2026 - the first BWF Grade 3 tournament in Asia to use the BWF-approved IRS. Here's what six days on the ground taught us.
The ANTICA Singapore International Challenge 2026, held from 18–23 August 2026 at WYSE Active Hub, marked an important milestone for Revealtek.
It was our first international BWF tournament deployment and the first BWF Grade 3 tournament in Asia to experience the BWF-approved Instant Review System (IRS).
More than just a technology deployment, Singapore gave us the opportunity to see how our system performed across six days of real international competition.
Day 0: Preparing the Officials
Before competition began, the Revealtek team conducted a briefing with tournament umpires to walk them through the complete IRS workflow.
Officials learned how player challenges would be initiated, reviewed and communicated during matches.
For us, this step was essential. Technology should support officials without complicating their work, and giving umpires time to understand the system helped create a smoother experience once the tournament began.
Six Days of Live Competition
Throughout the tournament, Revealtek's IRS was available whenever players challenged close line calls.
Behind each review was a combination of high-speed cameras, AI-powered processing and actual match footage, allowing decisions to be reviewed and presented clearly during live competition.
Unlike a controlled demonstration, Singapore tested the system under real tournament conditions - different players, officials, consecutive matches and the pressure of international competition.
It was an important opportunity to understand how the technology fits into the natural rhythm of badminton.
Feedback From Players
Players who experienced the IRS also shared feedback directly with our team.
Very rare to see challenge system IRS in an IC (International Challenge) tournaments. Most importantly, this challenge is a real video, not an imitation.
Having the challenge system allows us to play with confidence. During close calls, we don't just have to rely on the line judge alone - we can use the challenge and see the exact review. I think it would be great if this could be introduced even in lower-tier tournaments.
Their response was positive and gave us valuable insight into the player experience - from review speed and decision presentation to visibility on court.
Every deployment teaches us something, and the feedback gathered in Singapore will help us continue improving the system.
Behind the Scenes With Singapore Badminton Association
Representatives from the Singapore Badminton Association also visited our setup for a behind-the-scenes look at how the Revealtek IRS operates.
They were able to see the technology beyond the final decision shown on court - including the camera setup, review workflow and operational process behind each challenge.
It demonstrated how professional officiating technology can be deployed without the large permanent infrastructure traditionally associated with review systems.

Another highlight was a special exhibition match featuring four-time World Champion Hendra Setiawan.

Having one of badminton's most accomplished players experience Revealtek's technology on court was a memorable moment for our team.
With Dr. Mohamad Maliki Osman, President of Antica Foundation, attending the event, Revealtek also created personalised IN and OUT decision visuals featuring his image, adding a creative and engaging element to the review experience.
It showed that sports technology can combine accuracy and professionalism with greater audience engagement.
From Malaysia to Singapore
After deployments across junior and national-level tournaments in Malaysia, Singapore represented the next chapter for Revealtek.
Taking our technology into another country tested not only the system, but also our preparation, operations, communication with officials, player experience and ability to adapt to a new venue.
By the end of six days, we returned with something even more valuable than another successful deployment: experience.
